A very solid album. It is very great, but feels lacking without the opera part of the "Rock Opera". Also, the song “Pinball Wizard” is obviously the highlight of the album. I appreciate the leitmotifs scattered throughout it.

I was first introduced to the pinball Wizard song in Junior High School. Once I started listening to the whole rock opera I could not get enough. I am somewhat preoccupied with the battle between good and evil, or might versus right and Tommy explores this so well. Tommy achieves a messiah like existence, but not without suffering and abuse. The question I am left with is was his suffering worth it? Although at the end of the album he has created a holiday camp to give new people his experience to propel them forward, I am not sure the level of suffering he intended to inflict was worth it. The music is catchy, beautiful, and skillful. I love to listen over and over again.
