‘The Bends’ was the album released by Radiohead directly before OK Computer. Many of the songs share the acoustic feel of Karma Police, notably Fake Plastic Trees. I would say that this album takes a lot fewer risks than their later work, and is less experimental. All that said it is full of incredible lyrics, beautiful music, contrasting sounds. When I listened to this album when I was younger I gravitated to the distorted guitar in the song Just and the fantastic music video they did for this song. Now I enjoy all of the songs a lot and know that I will continue to come back to this album over and over again.

I think the album cover looks like a crash test dummy with EKG leads on it. I am not sure how that relates to the content on the album, but it is decidedly not scary.
