I went into this album expecting more like Dark Side of the Moon, but did not find what I was expecting. This felt much more heavily built off of solos and improvisation, which is not always my cup of tea.

Really clever. Well done. I love how the little piggy sits perfectly between the two smokestacks and how you may not notice it with a quick glance.

I did not enjoy “the Dark Side of the Moon” all that much and because that was the first Pink Floyd album I ever listened to I did not expect to like Animals but I did. There were animal noises add to the tracks like dogs barking in ‘Dogs”, and Pigs snorting in ‘Pigs’ and sheep in the song ‘Sheep’ too!.
I am not sure why the songs are all named after animals, and I don’t know why pigs get 3 of the 5 songs… I found that this was more atmospheric rock and less experimental. I really enjoyed the distortion of the guitars, and the simple repetitive melodies that were in many of the songs

I don’t entirely understand why an album called animals has a factory of some sort as the album cover. I wonder if it has to do with the pollution spewing out of the chimneys and if the suggestion is we are animals because we treat the earth in such a terrible way? Confused.
