The next song was Rock and Roll which was really fun and then the battle of Evermore. I was really enjoying the vocals of the additional female singer and I wanted to know her name so I looked it up (Sandy Denny) and noticed that this was a song in tribute to the Lord of the Rings. Just the vocals in combination with the many Lord of the Rings nods was so enjoyable. So the next song was Stairway to Heaven. I have heard this song many times but never with the knowledge that Led Zeppelin was at all interested in the Lord of the Rings. So with this new context and perspective I discovered this beautiful association of this song with Galadriel! This makes the song just so much more haunting. Just a really amazing discovery for me today. Also I think that the Misty Mountain hop is clearly a call out to Lord of the Rings. I know that I am not the only person to see these parallels but it feels like a really special discovery.
