I expected the cover to show an image of great love. And the image on the album cover is very serious. My son tells me John Coltrane was a deeply religious man and that perhaps the love supreme is a reference to the love of God. So maybe it is appropriate to look serious as you play music to celebrate a love supreme in this sense?
