Surprisingly good. The standout track was Sundown, which I didn’t realise I knew. I look forward to listening to the other Gordon Lightfoot album on the list.

The world is a better place because Gordon Lightfoot was in it. I am privileged to say that I saw him in concert a few years before his passing. He was a gentle soul with a love of storytelling through music. Few Canadian artists have been enmeshed in music culture the way Gordon Lightfoot has.  I would put him in the same category as the Tragically Hip and Rush as an artist that is globally recognizable as  excellent and Canadian. I love the song Sundown and I love the voyeurism that the song conveys. A sense of the taboo certainly comes across in the lyrics and I love that sensibility. And even in a song with words like poetry you come to know the players and the true sense of a song being folk is realized. His music just brings me so much joy.

The album feels bare to me.  In a vulnerable and gentle way. I like it but I will admit that it lacks a wow factor that many album covers pull off.
